Cumberland, MD: The Eddy Press, [1905]. First edition, signed by the author on the verso of the frontispiece. Quarter green cloth over grey boards, spine titled in gilt and front board titled in black. 8 x 5 1/2 inches; 160 pp.; frontispiece. Board and spine extremities lightly toned and rubbed, one corner bumped, rear board with three small pale spots, front hinge starting, rear hinge cracked; front endpaper, frontispiece and title page foxed.
A signed copy of Rutledge's scarce first book, reportedly published in an edition of only 500 copies. This book and the 1921 Rutledge work published by Frederick A. Stokes also titled Old Plantation Days are different works.
