Shelf wear, fading and staining to cloth, rear hinge starting, early ownership inscription on half-title.
A promotional book encouraging English settlement to Minnesota, a place unaffected by the agricultural depression in contemporary Britain and Ireland. Farrar describes an "English colony" in the town of Fairmont, discusses everyday life in the state, weighs the pros and cons of emigration, and ends with appendix of practical information for a newly arrived farmer.
