[CANADA-HUNTING] Camp Photos. Temogami Forest Preserve Summer of 1910 Two Weeks and a half. September
[caption title on first leaf]. Temogami, Ontario and environs: 1910. Photographic album in faux leather. 9 7/8 x 12 1/2 inches (25 x 32 cm); approximately 200 gelatin silver prints, most 3 3/8 x 5 inches, mounted to both sides of black paper mounts, some captioned on the mounts, with a list of the participants. Some wear, edge defects to mounts, a few images creased but generally in excellent condition. A few photographs now loose, evidence of removal of a few images.
The photographic record of a fishing and canoeing trip to the Temogami region conducted by a party from Pittsburgh Pa., including Rory McCutcheon, Gary Houston, Bob Christie, Jack Heard, Alf Houston and Bill Houston (taken from a list on one mount). This album depicts something of a late summer's idyll, showing the canoeing and portaging, the camps, camaderie and tomfoolery, the trout caught, the scenery etc., in a series of charming and evocative images. A few images at the rear of the album (not included in the total) depict military service in WWII.
