Montreal: John Lovell & Son, 1881. First edition. Dark blue flexible leather, probably a presentation binding, with the name "Clyde Caldwell" stamped in gilt (likely the dedicatee of the work, see below). 7 1/4 x 4 1/2 inches (18 x 11.5 cm); 168 pp. Neatly recased with new spine and endpapers, some wear.
A most uncommon work on trapping and hunting in Canada, etc. The book is dedicated to William C. Caldwell, very likely the "Clyde Caldwell" of the front cover, or a relative. The regular issue was in cloth.
