BLAEU, WILLEM Insulae Americanae in Oceano Septentrionali, cum Terris adjacentibus.
Amsterdam: [circa 1635 or later]. Engraved map with partial hand-coloring, Latin text on verso. 14 3/4 x 20 1/2 inches (37.5 x 52 cm), with wider margins; framed. A few minor spots and short closed tears to margins, archivally hinged, quite clean overall.
A fine map of the Caribbean with portions of North, South and Central America, reflecting the knowledge gained during Hessel Gerritsz's 1628 voyage. Both Florida and Virginia are named and the map reaches as far north as Chesapeake Bay. Burden, The Mapping of North America, 242.
