With alphabets, numerals and an instructive verse surrounded by birds, hearts, squirrels, and birdcages, within a meandering vine border. Height 11 1/4 inches, width 9 1/2 inches; Together with an English Needlework Mourning Picture. Early 19th century. Depicting a woman by an urn on a plinth with monogram JK. Oval, height 13 inches, width 10 3/4 inches; And Two American Needlework Samplers. One with alphabets, the lower register with two facing birds, tower, etc., inscribed Sally (?), Feb(?) 12, 1776, in a rosewood and gilt frame, height 8 1/2 inches, width 7 1/4 inches; overall 12 3/4 inches, width 11 3/4 inches; the other with alphabets and numerals above a house, flower basket, sheep, etc. Height 10 1/4 inches, width 8 1/4 inches.
