Staffordshire Creamware 'Tortoiseshell' Teapot and Cover
Circa 1760-65
The globular pot with loop handle and crabstock spout, the inset cover with acorn finial, one side molded with a Chinese man holding a large palm frond in his right hand, his left extending a flower spray on which a bird perches, the cover and shoulder bordered with alternating flowerheads and scrolls, splashed overall with brown, green and grey colored oxides.
Height 4 1/2 inches, width overall 7 1/8 inches.
