[ENGLISH THEATRE] Sammelband of five plays.
Including comedies of manners and an adaptation of a Kotzebue tragedy, all dating from the last decade of the 18th century. In period half calf over marbled boards, later gilt spine label. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches (19 x 10 1/2 cm). Binding rubbed and worn; front joint starting, occasional manuscript annotations, School for Scandal is incomplete and the title page is loose, ownership inscription in ink dated 1827, with the booklabel of William Safire.
