Period calf, retaining traces of a central medallion on the covers, housed in a cloth slipcase and chemise. 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches (14 x 9 cm); [1], 103, 105-171, [25] ff.; collating A-X^(8) Y^(4), 2A-C^(8). The binding very worn and extensively restored, some staining to text, the title quite soiled and a bit creased with two old ink inscriptions, small hole to a blank area of the last leaf, also a bit soiled and creased.
A classic work on land tenure written by Sir Thomas de Littleton (d. 1481), written in law French, in an attractive pocket edition printed in blackletter for the foremost legal publisher of the time. This edition was edited by William West, whose note occupies the final leaf. ESTC S108638
