[ALDINE] PUBLIUS VERGILIUS MARO. [Opera.]
Venice: [Paulus Manutius], 1565. Full 19th century red morocco, covers gilt with the Aldine dolpphin and anchor device, all edges gilt. 5 7/8 x 3 7/8 inches (15 x 10 cm); 244 ff., the last leaf with the anchor and dolphin device. The binding rather rubbed but sound, the title-page slightly misaligned with the rest of the text, old ownership inscription and pen trials on the title and the blank verso of the final leaf, a few minor stains to the text, neat ownership inscription dated 1704 on title verso.

A fine pocket edition of Virgil, following the edition of 1555, with the introduction by Paul Manutius dated 1555. Renouard Annales de l'imprimerie des Alde third edition, p. 198, no. 13.
