Handel Co. Patinated Metal and Painted Glass Library Desk Lamp
Design no. 6675, circa 1920
With a cylindrical opal glass shade, decorated on the exterior side with a painted border of confronting cornucopia, stylized leaves and scrolls, against a yellow ground, mounted on an adjustable base, shade signed Handel 6675. Height 13 7/8 inches; width of shade 8 inches.

shade: appears to be in generally good, undamaged condition; there are a few scattered small nicks to the lower rim edge, not of great consequence; the lamp is currently wired with a later wire; socket appears to be old; the socket (and pull chain) and wiring were not tested; the shade has a soiled appearance and likely would benefit from a gentle cleaning
base: the lamp is now missing one of the square caps that goes over the protruding molded square part of the glass shade at one end; the patina has a dulled and soiled appearance, consistent with age, usage and handling; there is an original Handel cloth label affixed to the fabric cloth that is affixed on the underside of the base
