Comprises Workers. An Archaeology of the Industrial Age. New York: Aperture, [1993]. First edition, with a fine inscription by Salgado to Arnold Newman. Publisher' gray cloth in dust-jacket. A fine copy; and Sahel-El fin de Camino. Communidad del Madrid/Para Medico sin Fronteras, 1988. First edition, inscribed by Salgado and his wife "A Tina et John Avec/tout notre amitie/S.S. Salgado" [also signed by Lelia Wanick Salgado, in her hand]. Publisher's wrappers, housed in a modern tan cloth clamshell case. Slight sun fading to wrappers.
Two splendid association copies of works by Salgado. The first is inscribed "To Arnold [Newman] and Gus [i.e. Augusta Newman]/salve my friends/S.S. Salgado." It retains the pamphlet in the pocket at the rear. The second is a presentation of Salgado's third book to John Morris, the legendary photo-editor (and Executive Editor of Magnum). The book features Salgado's magnificent (and excruciating) photographs of starvation in the Sahel.
