Majolica Cobalt-Blue Ground Egg and Nesting Swan Jug

Modeled as an open backed swan arranging reeds while perched atop a large cobalt-blue egg, on a circular foot, height 8 inches; Together with a George Dreyfus Majolica Swan Server Set with Six Signet-Form Egg Cups. Circa 1890. Printed G.D. / Paris / Déposé Envelope marks impressed T and cypher. Naturalistically modeled, the open back supporting six cups modeled as small chicks with broken egg-shells on their backs forming the bowls, height 8 1/2 inches, length 13 inches.
