Publisher's wave-patterned blue cloth, gilt titled and decorated, top edge gilt. 12 3/8 x 9 3/4 inches; xv, [1], 281 pp., tipped in color printed frontispiece and plates, black and white plates, and illustrations in text. Light rubbing and wear to cloth at edges and spine, contents faintly toned, spotted throughout, endpapers with two bookseller labels, tipped in old booksellers description, and bookplate of noted architect and painter George Washington Smith.

A classic reference book on the decorative aspects of naval architecture.
