LIST, HERBERT (1903-1975) [Torso, Antikythera], 1937.
Gelatin silver print, likely printed 1950s, 5 7/8 x 5 inches (148 x 126 mm) on marginally larger sheet, verso with List's "Herbert List Paris" stamp, the Black Star "Picture on Loan" stamp , and various later pencil notations. A slight ferrotyping defect noted at upper right margin.
An early work by List, whose photographs of male forms, both sculptural and human, were controversial at the time
