Boston: John Boyle, 1775. Second American edition (preceded by the scarce 1677 edition). Contemporary calf with red morocco lettering label. 7 x 4 inches (18 x 10 cm); 288 pp. An unrestored and attractive copy in a contemporary binding. The joint starting, some rubbing and small losses to binding, toned and spotted with occasional faint stains, early ownership signature of the Theodore Foster Foster Library (inscription on pastedown dated 7 October 1822).

An important work first published in a virtually unobtainable 1677 edition, the book work was reissued at the time of the American Revolution, adding a preface. This copy acquired at Christie's New York, 3 December 2007, lot 134. Evans 14120; Howes H-756; Sabin 33447.
