[PRINTS & GRAPHICS] A miscellaneous group of twenty-one framed items.
Includes examples of Civil War-era interest: two colored prints of Civil War ships, being the Union ironclad Monadock and the Confederate war steamer Tallahassee, both likely extracted from periodicals, 5 x 9 inches, nicely framed separately; five framed illustrations extracted from 19th century periodicals with one similar reproduction, from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, Ballou's Pictorial Drawing Room, etc., two being color examples of Florida orange groves extracted from Harper's Weekly; The printed small format guide to Thomas Sulman's New York from Bergen Hill Hoboken, 1876; Of aviation interest: a reproduction of the ballooning print by Cioni Macchina Aerostatica di F. Carmine, Firenze, 1788, frame measures 24 x 19 1/4 inches (61 x 48.5 cm); a signed color aquatint engraving by K. Parker titled Scout, 1987, numbered 10/40, 11 x 18 inches; a signed aquatint engraving by K. Parker titled Air Show, 1985, numbered 12/50, sheet measures 15 x 11 in (38 x 28 cm), framed; Of Indian/Asian interest: three likely original Indian/Asian color drawings of horses, in nice period style frames, two of the frames 16 x 18 inches the other smaller; three antique hand-colored engravings of monkeys, after Audubert, the plates dated 1804, toned; two color Japanese woodblock style prints on thick paper or fabric, framed; a colored print extracted from an 18th/19th century costume book; also with a Jose Guyer Salles. Yellow tomatoes, color aquatint, 1984, signed and numbered 14/20 in pencil, 11 5/8 x 15 5/8 inches (29.5 x 40 cm); framed. Each in apparently good condition, no work examined out of frame and the lot sold as is. The lot 21 frames.
