Le Pho -- Soared Over Estimates!

Highlighting the sale were four works by Le Pho that attracted strong competition from bidders around the globe. All four works soared past their respective estimates to achieve exceptional results. Le Pho studied and worked in Paris after leaving Hanoi, and is celebrated for his luminescent post-Impressionist paintings. Represented in the sale with three radiant still lifes and a portrait of a young woman arranging flowers, Le Pho balances the delicate technique of classic Chinese painting alongside the vivid colors and loose gestures inherent to Modern Art. Lots 33-36

With competitive international bidding, the sale totaled a successful $2,375,438, near the top of its $1,567,000-2,474,000 estimate, with 85% sold by lot and 100% sold by value.
