New York: East Aurora, NY: [Privately printed for the author] by the Roycrofters, 1937. First edition, inscribed by the author. Publisher's brown faux leather over thin boards, lettered in gilt, patterned glassine dust wrapper. 6 3/4 x 5 1/4 inches (17 x 13.5 cm); 34, [2] ff.; frontispiece map, five double-sided plates, text printed on specially made paper. Minute wear, glassine with small chips, a crack and faint toning at spine, mild offsetting to imitation leather at spine, overall quite a fine copy.

A scarce African safari account, "undoubtedly published in a very small quantity." Carpenter was a noted big game hunter and an influential member of the Boone and Crockett Club. Czech African Hunting pp. 55-56.
