White Gold, Diamond, Cabochon Sapphire and Ruby Flag Brooch
Rectangular buff-topped rubies and sapphires, 26 round diamonds ap. 1.00 ct., small single-cut diamonds ap. 1.60 cts., reverse with plaque noting 'AB Z 1792', ap. 6.6 dwts. With box noting 'Launching of the Cargoliner Toreador, 24th April, 1954', signed Bonebakker Amsterdam.
Provenance: Brooch given to recipient who christened the cargoliner Toreador on 24 April 1954, as noted on original case. The ship was built by Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maastschappij (NDSM), Amsterdam.
