George Jones Majolica Turquoise-Ground Lobed Tray
Circa 1875
Molded with a large butterfly, an insect and two stalks of wheat, within a basketweave rim, impressed registry diamond (5-S-K-3) for 1875 and cypher, black painted shape no. 3477, diameter 12 1/2 inches; Together with a George Jones Majolica Turquoise and Cobalt-Blue Ground Heron and Stork Jug. Circa 1875, of paneled barrel form, molded with a heron and a stork wading in tall grasses, the bracket handle and rims as bamboo, impressed GJ monogram mark, raised registry diamond (8-U-A-2) for 8 December 1874, impressed 8, black painted shape no. 3409, and 80, height 7 3/4 inches.
