MONROE, JAMES Land grant signed as President.
Washington: 27 June 1817. Partially printed document on vellum with orange wafer seal accomplished in manuscript and signed in ink "James Monroe" as President, countersigned by Josiah Meigs as Commissioner of the General Land Office. The document granting lands near Cincinnati to Daniel Waymire assignee of Philemon Plummer. 8 1/2 x 13 inches (22 x 35 cm); matted but without frame. Folds, some soiling, the Meigs signature weak but Monroe dark.
