MONROE, JAMES Land grant signed as President.
Washington: 8 December 1819. Partially printed document on vellum with wafer seal accomplished in manuscript and signed in ink "James Monroe" as President, countersigned by Josiah Meigs as Commissioner of the General Land Office. The document granting lands near Cincinnati to Frederick Hullsapple assignee of Andrew Bailey. 8 1/4 x 13 inches (21 x 35 cm); framed. Folds, dust soiling along left edge, other toning, the main ink text and the Meigs signature weak but the Monroe signature dark.
