[New York]: J. B. Holmes, July 1867. Second edition. Lithographed map on paper, hand colored, old linen backing, red silk border. Sheet measures 15 1/8 24 1/4 inches (38.5 x 62 cm). Lightly toned, a few creases, ribbon border coming undone. A rare John Bute Holmes cadastral map of Chelsea, showing the area from 28th to 31st streets between Broadway and 8th Avenue. The map shows historic property lines and some early buildings, all superimposed over the contemporary city's grid.
