Hound: age cracks, including a crack to the upper part of the backplate, which also has glue repair (visible on the back side); typical surface scuffs, nick, and abrasions; there is another age crack located near the bottom area of the backplate; there is the loss to the tip end of a scroll ornament located at the upper outer rim edge of the backplate
Fox: age cracks, including a vertical crack located near the animal's right eye; typical surface nicks, scuffs and abrasions, including an abrasion loss to the side of one nostril; there are a few losses to the wood, including to the tip of one of the fox's ears, a fang on the lower jaw, and a scroll end on the upper outer rim edge of the backplate
