Russian Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Large Table Mirror and Hand Mirror
Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1880s
The table mirror with an oval plate within a conforming frame enameled with varicolored flowers and foliage within a pellet border, on two legs formed as cockerels, on ball and claw feet, the crest in the form of a crowned cartouche centering a monogram and flanked by two cockerels, with a wood back and strut; the hand mirror similarly decorated. Height of table mirror 24 inches (61 cm), width 15 inches (38 cm).

Nearly identical table mirrors by Ovchinnikov were sold Sotheby's, New York, April 15, 2008, lot 348, and Christie's, London, September 22, 2022, lot 106.
