ANDERSON, PAUL L. (1880-1956) Group of seven large-format Pictorialist images.
Includes The Sun Worshippers, 1915, multiple gum print, printed 1945; A Winter Night, 1928, platinum print; New York in the Rain, Battery Park, 1914, carbon print; [E 16 Street], 1909, bromide print (?); The Gallatin Canyon, 1947, printed 1949, chlorobromide print; Under the Brooklyn Bridge, 1909, printed later?, palladium print?; and The Big White Cloud, 1939, chlorobromide print. The largest 10 3/8 x15 3/8 inches (264 x 392 mm), rectos signed by the artist, most with the back mats, which bear exhibit notes etc. presumably in the hand of the artist. Images generally in excellent condition, one overmat (on the final item) listed.

Paul L. Anderson was a professional photographer and a pioneering Pictorialist, who was adept in a wide range of printing techniques. He taught at the Clarence H. White School of Photography, and wrote extensively on the subject of photography, as well as producing children's literature.
