Mainbocher Gold and Black Silk Plaid Evening Gown
French, circa 1940
The plaid perfectly matched at all points, the gown with V-shaped camisole bodice, decorated with three elaborate oval buttons, two triangular inserts defining waist, the flared skirt falling fuller at back from central ruched area, the waist inserts pleated at back, zipper colored to blend with plaid, separate long waist sash, size 8, labeled: Mainbocher/12 Avenue George V A Paris/Made In France and hand written tape label: Wanamacker 75 Robe 620.2965.
Very good condition, some discolorations at armscyes.
