French, 1930s
Of black crepe backed satin, the matte and shiny sides each utilized on exterior, the bodice with low V front, and loosely tacked in folds along upper back to create sack back draping, the sleeves formed with individual strands of knotted silk cord sewn together densely at shoulders and released at upper arm, self tie at waist front, size 8, labeled: Jean Patou/Paris, and tape label no. 42406.
Very good condition, hem uneven, re-sewn, possible minor alteration at front seam.
