Cartier Custom Dressing Case
Early 20th century
The exterior of black epi leather, the interior of both forest green and black, with brown suede linings, fitted with a hinged top tray that lifts out to become a separate carrying case, containing approximately eighteen sterling silver jars, brushes and implements, each engraved with monogram and crown, and marked: Cartier/Paris, as well as an ivory handled toothbrush and gilt-metal personal grooming implements such as nail clippers, scissors and a razor, the case additionally outfitted with a leather envelope containing a writing blotter, two large leather cases and a Guerlain atomizer in a leather case, labeled: Cartier Paris/Londres/New York. Height 13 inches, width 20 1/2 inches, depth 6 3/8 inches.
Very good condition, some wear to exterior, especially at edges and corners, one lock bent.
