Louis XV Kingwood and Tulipwood Gilt-Bronze Mounted Marquetry Inlaid Commode
J.L. Gosson, mid 18th century
The molded edge serpentine-front mottled rouge and salmon pink marble top above a conforming bombe case enclosing two drawers sans traverse, raised on tapering legs with later chutes, sabots and escutcheons, stamped J.L. Gosson, , JME, together with the stamp of the Chateau de Chanteloup. Height 33 1/2 inches (85.5 cm), width 43 1/2 inches (1.10 m), depth 19 3/4 inches (50 cm).
