Group of Three Framed Pre-Columbian Textiles
Peru, Chimu and Bolivia, Tiahuanaco, 1000-1460 A.D. and 100-800 A.D.
The first depicting a feline, possibly a jaguar, in frontal position, gauze weave worked in red, buff, and ochre, height 15 inches, width 12 inches, the next a triangular stepped fragment, the corner of a funerary mantle, depicting stylized birds, tapestry weave worked in red, buff and ocher, fringed bottom, utmost height 11 inches, utmost width 9 inches, the last Tiahuanaco, depicting curvilinear abstract forms in quadrants, tapestry weave worked in soft roses, pink and neutral tones, height 8 1/2 inches, width 12 inches.
