Group of Three Pre-Columbian Textiles
Peru, Chancay, 1000-1460 A.D.
The first a fragment depicting seabirds arranged in chevron pattern, in umber and cream tones, height 12 inches, width 9 inches, the next depicting anthropomorphic laughing fish figures, tapestry weave worked in vivid red, cream and ocher, height 12 1/2 inches, width 7 3/4 inches, the last depicting stylized monkeys in a diagonal format, woven in shades of red and ochre, height 5 1/4 inches, width 9 inches. Each framed.
