Tibetan Gilt-Copper Alloy Figure of Vajrasattva 16th Century
16th Century
Cast as a single piece, the figure sits on a double lotus with beaded edging below and string edging above; his dhoti is gathered in pleats, originally inlaid with silver wirework and coral and turquoise cabochon serve as highlights. The casting is quite crisp and the gilding remains bright; base opened. Height 7 7/8 inches (20 cm).
