NOVARRO, RAMON; Approximately 300 photographic stills
Collection of approximately 300 black and white photographs including stills from "Ben Hur" and other features, mostly 10 x 8 inches, with two copies of the photograph by George Hurrell of Novarro in "The Singer from Seville" (also known as "Call of the Flesh") 1930, each 13 1/2 x 10 inches, with blindstamp.
Ramon Novarro (1899-1968) began his movie career in "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1922), when he was hailed as "The new Valentino." His most famous role was the title character in "Ben Hur" (1926), then the most expensive movie ever filmed.
