According to Dr. Adelaide Romaine, Mr. and Mrs. Hicks were friends of her grandparents and would visit them often in their home in Rumson, New Jersey in an area known as Black Point. Uncle Dick, who lived in Oceanic, would walk down to the Romaine's home and spent many idle hours at the boathouse on their estate that overlooks the river to the Highlands.

Glue lined. Frame rubbing. Scattered light craquelure. Thin in areas from lining and prior cleaning (lined in 1963). 6 inch old scratch with inpainting at upper right center from top edge. No further apparent restoration.
