Two Japanese Kozuka
19th Century
One shakudo and nanako, with Monjo Bosatsu seated in a grove of blossoming peony with two shi shi, in taka-bori of gold, silver and shakudo and shibuichi on a nanako ground, with a raised gold rim, reverse in neko-gaki style; the other shakudo and nanako, worked with a peasant with a lighted torch approaching the edge of a lake and a large pine tree and tori, with a raised gold border, the reverse polished gold, engraved with the shoreline and a pagoda, signed Mitsuyoshi. Lengths 3 3/4 inches.
