Frame rubbing. Lined. Visible stretcher marks, particularly along the upper edge. Extensive inpainting throughout the seated girl. Scattered cracquelure, particularly in the child's neck (there is a bull's eye shaped area) and forehead. Also, the area around the child's skirt is quite abraded and therefore the ground shows through.
There is a label glued to the back of the canvas at the lower left. The label is in French and attributes the work to Nicolas Largilliere.
