Louis XV Style Gilt-Metal Mounted Marquetry Inlaid Mahogany Commode
The serpentine-shape breche d'Alep marble top above a conforming case enclosing two drawers, with floral spray and scrolling acanthus leaves, raised on cabriole legs with foliate decorated knees, chutes and sabots. Height 35 1/4 inches, width 60 3/4 inches, depth 25 inches.

Marble top: repairs to breaks; quite a bit infilling including to the front rim edge; chips
Case: top drawer opens with a little bit of difficulty; lifting and splitting to sides of the commode; some pieces of veneer appear to have been re-glued onto the case; mounts appear to be gold overpainted; some of the nails / pins that secure the mounts have been replaced with screws; oak secondary wood
Note: the escutcheon is stamped "E. KAHN" on the reverse side
