Original smooth brown cloth in a buff dust jacket, the spine panel with title, author, publisher and price (7/6), the book and jacket protected in a leather-backed slipcase and chemise. 7 1/4 x 5 inches (18 x 13 cm); (viii), 350, (2) pp. A little minor soiling to the cloth, one very short split at the foot of the rear fold of the jacket, within some minor foxing to the endpapers and a short split to the rear hinge at the endpapers, otherwise a very nice example.
This is probably not the first issue of the jacket, as the book was issued at six shillings; it is presumably from a later issue or edition. Sold with a copy of Behrman's book on Beerbohm with a very affectionate authorial inscription to Maria (Mia) Farrow.
