, comprising FILLMORE, MILLARD. Franking signature, on envelope dated March 3, no year, but retaining Fillmore's presidential wax seal to the verso, addressed in his hand to Charles Van Benthuysen in Albany and signed "M. Fillmore." In an attractive double-sided frame with portrait; PIERCE, FRANKLIN. Document signed. Washington: 19 April 1855. Printed document accomplished in manuscript authorizing the seal of the United States to be affixed to an authorization for Augustus Dodge to negotiate the settlement of a debt between "her Catholic Majesty" and the United States, with a large bold signature as President; BUCHANAN, JAMES. Manuscript appointment signed. Washington: 11 May 1857. Manuscript document appointing Henry St. George Offutt to a post in the Treasury. Signed as President. The Pierce with a few ink smudges, the Buchanan with visible stains, all unexamined out of frame.
