Modern vellum to period style, all edges red. 6 x 3 3/4 inches (15 x 9.5 cm); [xxii], 432, [4] pp., with portrait, engraved title and sixteen maps and plates, mostly folding. The plate "La Patente du Roi de Perse," which the plate list calls for at page 270, is bound with the folding map at p.1. A clean copy, complete with all plates; Together with GRELOT, GUILLAUME JOSEPH. Relation nouvelle d'un voyage de Constantinople. Paris: Pierre Rocolet, 1681. Second edition. 19th century vellum with the arms of William Sterling Maxwell in black, all edges red. 6 x 3 1/2 inches (15 x 9 cm); [xii], 371, [1] pp, with 12 folding plates, lacking the large folding plate of Constantinople. Generally a clean copy, though lacking the view of Constantinople and possibly one other plate. With the bookplate of William Stirling Maxwell; And an incomplete set, lacking parts 5 and 9, of the 1711 edition of Chardin's works.
