. Paris: F. L. Schmied, 1927. This is example 147 from the edition of 150 signed copies (there were also twenty roman numbered copies for subscribers); this copy bears a lengthy pencil inscription by Schmied to Jacques de Montravel dated March 1936. Two volumes, the text in later blue morocco by Tomesani, the front cover with an onlaid panel of two white birds (echoing an illustration in the book), the suites in a matching folding leather-backed case with sleeve. Original wrappers bound in the text volume, present in the unbound suites, both volumes in leather-lipped slipcases. 12 x 9 1/2 inches (30.5 x 24.5 cm); [8], 145, [1], [8] pp.; with the large opening plate of Haroun el Raschid and thirteen others, together with 636 text decorations, all after Schmied's designs, printed in color wood-engraving by Théo Schmied and P. Guillemat. The two suites are en couleur and en noir. Some occasional spotting to the text.
According to the colophon, the suites were only issued with the first twelve copies. Schmied supplied the suite in this copy as a token of esteem; the inscription refers specifically to this addition. Mauro Nasti B 10.
