Antique Gold, Cabochon Sapphire and Ruby Fringe Necklace, Carlo Giuliano
The necklace composed of coiled links continuously surmounted by domed twisted gold circular plaques set with 58 small round cabochon rubies, supporting a fringe of 58 flexibly-set round cabochon sapphires atop slightly larger plaques of similar motif, with maker's mark, circa 1880, approximately 58 dwts. Length 16 inches.

Cabochon rubies: medium light pinkish-red to medium deep rasberry red, slightly to moderately included, many of stones misshapen, chipped, good polish.
Rich yellow gold color. Well-made. Width with fringe 1/2 inch.
