William and Mary Marquetry Walnut Tall Case Clock
The arched hood surmounted by ball finials, above a pierced fretwork frieze, over a glazed door flanked by engaged columns enclosing associated works with a square dial signed Tho. Smith, London, with a silvered chapter ring, Roman and Arabic numerals, secondary dial, silent/chime and a five-pillar three-train movement with an anchor escapement, the case continuing to a molded door centering a pendulum aperture, raised on a square base continuing to a molded plinth. Height 7 feet 11 inches (2.41 m), width 20 3/4 inches (52.7 cm).
