Chinese Longquan Celadon Covered Jar
Yuan/Ming Dynasty
Incised on the exterior with four character panels alternating with foliate panels above a lappet border at the foot, the cover formed as a lotus leaf with a curling rim below further incised foliate panels and a small stem form finial, the jar and cover under a thick olive green glaze except for the footrim, rim and underside of the cover exposing the body burnt red in firing. Height 11 inches.
