Chinese Longquan Celadon Vase

The tall oval form fired in two sections meeting at the middle, the lower portion with a band of blossoming peony on leafy stems over a lappet border at the foot, the upper section repeating the peony band below a scrolling foliate border and lappets at the neck, covered overall in a thick sea green glaze except for the unglazed foot burnt orange in firing. Height 23 1/2 inches.
