Group of Five Chinese Snuff Bottles
Qing Dynasty and later
Comprising a smokey rock crystal bottle carved in the form of a dragon with a turtle shell; a porcelain bottle of compressed spherical form raised on an oval foot, enameled on one side with a bird and flowers, the reverse with butterflies and flowers, all set between two mask and ring handles heightened with gilt detailing, the base with a four-character Qianlong mark; a molded porcelain example of ovoid form depicting figural scenes, all reserved on a turquoise glazed ground, the base with a four-character Qianlong mark; an amethyst bottle carved as Liu Hai riding on the back of a three legged toad grasping a string of coins in his hand, with fitted wood stand; and a rock crystal bottle of rounded rectangular form carved with fixed mask and ring handles on each side. Height of tallest 2 5/8 inches.

Molded porcelain: overall wear to glaze and enamel, mouth rim with chip that was ground down, possible restoration around neck area.

Porcelain: scattered iron spots and pinholes, wear to enamel and gilt details, glaze loss around foot.

Smokey rock crystal: chips to mouth rim, scattered small chips throughout body, small break and repair to tail/stopper.

Amethyst: chips to mouth rim.

Rock Crystal: small chips along mouth rim.
