Tibetan Gilt-Bronze Figure of a Bodhisattva
19th Century
Seated in dhyanasana on an cloisonne enameled double lotus throne, the hands held in the lap, dressed in a long dhoti with incised foliate hem, scarves and turquoise inlaid jewelry, the serene face framed with elongated earlobes and foliate form earrings and a foliate crown before hair gathered into a high double top knot. Height 10 7/8 inches.

Additional Notes & Condition Report

Light scattered gilt wear, areas of pigment wear to eyes, lips and hair. A few scattered turquoise beads missing. Alms bowl or vase missing from hands. Finial above hair knot bent slightly to the right.

Possibly holding an alms bowl in the hands at one point, now missing. Some minor loss to turquoise beading, gilt wear.
