London: Hurst & Blackett, 1910. First edition. Publisher's maroon cloth, top edge gilt. 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches; xvi, 327 pp.; frontispiece, plates, half-title. Extremities lightly bumped, endpapers toned, occasional foxing, frontispiece separated but present.
"The author traveled through the then unexplored region of the Bahr-el-Abyad and the Bahr-el-Ghazal to hunt elephant and hippo. He followed the Blue Nile and writes of the wealth of sport along its banks, succeeding in collecting more elephant as well as crocodile, lion and varieties of antelope. A quite valuable book for its description of the terrain and peoples as well" (Czech). Czech, Africa, p. 100.
